Addressed to al climbers and mountaineers with a minimum level in skiing in tracks and want to enjoy wintry mountain in their skis, escaping from the routine in the ski resort and enjoying incredible views and landscapes.

Contenidos

  • Equipment and alpine skiing material.
  • Interpreting the terrain and choosing the safe itinerary in a snowy mountain. Introduction to nivology and avalanches.
  • Arva protocol, use and rescue in case of avalanches with a victim.
  • Ascension techniques with skis, progressive turns, “maría al monte y al valle” turns.
  • Ascension strategies and group distribution in steep slopes or with avalanche risk.
  • Uses of the rope applied to alpine skiing. How to overcome a ledge.
  • Descending techniques applied to skiing in untreated snow.

 Necessary material

  • Alpine skiing material: cross-country boots, cross-country skis, speedskin, razors and sticks
  • Mountain helmet
  • Classic ice-axe
  • Crampons
  • 35 L bag
  • Security material: Arva, shovel and probe
  • Impermeable jacket
  • Impermeable trousers
  • Warm clothes
  • 2 pairs of gloves
  • Bonnet
  • Sun and blizzard glasses
  • Food and water

*Optional: if you don’t have any of these materials, we can lend them to you to do the course.
