Ice climbing course Level I

Designed for people who have never had a previous contact with ice climbing, the objective of the course is that the participants learn the necessary knowledge to safely progress through the ground, just as the necessary techniques to progress, through exercises and lessons in places specially conceived for that.

Contenidos

  • Materials, security chain, falling effect in climbing, pulley effect, reports and climbing routes grading in ice-climbing.
  • Techniques about using ropes, knots, roping and securing the climber.
  • Ice securing devices, screw placing, avalakov and use of shock absorbers.
  • Ice reunions, triangulations, factor two and safety chain in ice-climbing.
  • Climbing in “top-tope”, a gestural technique in ice climbing, climbing exercises with one or two ice-axes.
  • Lead climber climbing with the safety devices on.
  • Ice rappelling installation and self-secured rappels

  • Mountain boots
  • Mountain helmet
  • 2 technical ice-axes
  • Crampons
  • 35 L bag
  • Security material: Arva, shovel and probe
  • Harness + carabiner for bolts
  • 1 shock absorber
  • 4 express bands
  • Three HMS carabiners
  • One 7 mm and 1,5 mtrs line
  • One 60 mtrs double rope
  • One 2,40 mtrs flat sewed band
  • Securing device like reverso
  • Impermeable jacket
  • Impermeable trousers
  • Warm clothes
  • 2 pairs of gloves
  • Bonnet
  • Sun and blizzard glasses
  • Food and water
