High Mountain and Canyoning Guide

Monte Rosa 4.634m

This programme will allow us to deeply know the Monte Rosa massif. It’s a six-day journey with a beautiful and impressive route through big glaciers and that will allow us to climb to several mountains of more than 4,000 metres.

 Programme

  • Day 1: Meeting point in Chamonix at 19.00 h.
  • Day 2: Transfer from Chamonix to Zermatt – Going up via the cable car Trockener Stegg – Climb to the Theodul shelter (3327 metres).
  • Day 3: Theodul shelter – Ascension to Breithorn (4161 metres) via the Southwest face – Val d ́Ayas shelter.
  • Day 4:  Val d ́Ayas shelter– Ascension to Pollux (4091 metres) Ascension to Castor (4226 metres) – Quintino Sella shelter (3585 metres).
  • Day 5: Quintino Sella shelter – Ascension to Naso Liskam – Corno Nero (4322 metres) – Piramid Vincent (4215 metres) Monte Rosa shelter.
  • Day 6: Monte Rosa shelter – Ascension to Dufourspitze(Monte Rosa) (4634 metres) return to Monte Rosa shelter(2.795m).
  • Day 7: Monte Rosa shelter – Descent to Zermatt – Return to Chamonix.

  • Ratio: 1, 2 or 3 participants – 1 high mountain guide IFMGA
  • Dates: From June to September
  • Duration: 7 days
  • Difficulty: PD superior
  • Technical level PD superior: It's a mainly glacial journey in which only the ascension to Punta Dufour registers technical difficulties in stone (PD sup.). It develops in high mountain and requires of a good physical condition to safely confront the heights and the continuous days. It's necessary to be used to march with crampons and ice-axes.
  • Requirements: To be in possession of the FEDME card with the Europe modality of the current year.

 Price

  • Price: 3 pax 600€ each one, 2 pax 800€ each one, 1 pax 1500€
  • Things included:

    IFMGA guide service, management, guide’s security technical material.

  • Not included:

    Transport, trip costs and routes, shelter expenses and accomodation, cable cars… both client and guide (about 600€ per person).

 Necessary material

Adequate clothes for high mountain and intense cold. Gore-tex or similar jacket and trousers, rigid plastic or leather high mountain boots, leggings, 2 thermal-socks pairs, cap or balaclava helmet, thermal underwear and a change, sun and blizzard glasses, two pairs of gloves, crampons and ice axes, harness, a safety snap hook, a 7mm 2 metres line, 40-50 litres backpack, water bottle, attack food (sweet and salty), isotonic drink, sun cream, head torch and extra batteries, toilet bag, light sleeping bag.
