High Mountain and Canyoning Guide

Eiger-Monch-Jungfrau

This programme is focused in the Oberland Bernes, performing the climb to Eiger, mythic Alps mountain, famous because of the conquer of its north face and because of its Mittelegui edge; We will complete the week with the ascension to two amazing mountains of more than 4,000 metres like Monch and Jungfrau.

 Programme

  • Day 1: Meeting point in Chamonix at 19.00 h.
  • Day 2: Transfer from Chamonix to Grindelwald-Kleine Scheidegg Eismeer- Climb to Mittelegui shelter (3355 metros)
  • Day 3: Mittelegui shelter- Ascension through Mittelegui edge to Egier (3.90m) (AD-, 615 slope metres)- Eigerjoch journey and descent to Monchsjoch shelter (3650 metros)
  • Day 4: Monchsjoch shelter- Ascension to Monch (4.099m) through the South edge (PD, 650 metres) and descent to the shelter again.
  • Day 5: Monchsjoch shelter – Ascension to Jungfrau (4.158m) through the South-east edge (PD, 700 metros) descent to the shelter to spend the night.
  • Day 6: Reserve day just in case the weather forces us to change the planning or to carry out other activity.
  • Day 7: Return to Chamonix

Details

  • Ratio: 1 or 2 participants – 1 IFMGA high mountain guide
  • Dates: From June to September
  • Duration: 7 days
  • Difficulty: AD inferior
  • Technical level AD inferior: These are climbs which combine glacial progression and climbs in rocky ground and mixt, being the climb of the Mittelegui edge the most complicated, rated as AD inf. It develops in high mountain and requires a good physical condition to confront the slopes and the stay in heights. It is necessary to know how to use crampons and progression through rocky ridges.
  • Requirements: To be in possession of the FEDME card with the Europe modality of the current year.

 Price

  • Price: 1 pax: 1500 euros / 2pax: 800 per person
  • Things included:

    IFMGA guide service, management, guide’s security technical material.

  • Not included:

    Transport, trip costs and routes, shelter expenses and accomodation, cable cars… both client and guide (around 600€ per person).

 Necessary material

Adequate clothes for high mountain and intense cold. Gore-tex or similar jacket and trousers, rigid plastic or leather high mountain boots, leggings, 2 thermal-socks pairs, cap or balaclava helmet, thermic underwear and a change, sun and blizzard glasses, two pairs of gloves, crampons and ice axes, harness, a safety snap hook, a 7mm 2 metres line, 40-50 litres backpack, water bottle, attack food (sweet and salty), isotonic drink, suncream, head torch and extra batteries, toilet bag, light sleeping bag.
