{"id":857,"date":"2016-06-08T12:08:22","date_gmt":"2016-06-08T12:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.handix.org\/en\/mountain-guide-ravines\/barranquismo\/"},"modified":"2017-01-30T16:43:19","modified_gmt":"2017-01-30T16:43:19","slug":"canyoning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.handix.org\/en\/mountain-guide-ravines\/canyoning\/","title":{"rendered":"Canyoning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Canyoning<\/strong>, being one of our outstanding activities through the whole year, will allow us to reach really beautiful places like no other mountain activity, being able even to combine this activity with visiting places where we can admire cave paintings, archaeological remains, spot raptors and get to know the flora and fauna of this habitats, hand in hand with a guide that, beyond guiding us safely, will teach us to appreciate the environment and to enjoy it with as little environmental impact as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canyoning<\/strong> is an activity that we can adjust to our preferences in difficulty, compromise, amusement and for that, we will suggest different descent to make with your family, friends or with a small sportive group to go a little bit further.<\/p>\n<p>We work in small groups and we highlight the work of the guide, against the great tourism enterprises, adapting to the group necessities and always choosing what most fits the customer depending on his profile and preferences.<\/p>\n<h2>What do you need?<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the descent we make, we will need different types of clothes. If the descent is dry we will need mountain clothes: long trousers, sports t-shirt, a jacket and sports closed shoes (shoes for trekking will be better). For those who are regular, they can use the specific shoes for ravines, which will give us a better grip to the ground and better clamping of our ankles. For aquatic ravines we will need a swimsuit, short trousers for girls mostly, a thermal t-shirt and the same shoes than for dry ravines.<\/p>\n<p>For all descents we will need to bring some food and water, the guide will recommend the quantity needed depending on the ravine chosen.<\/p>\n<p>Suncream and a cap during summer are recommended.<\/p>\n<h2>What does this include?<\/h2>\n<p>The price includes the <strong>guide service<\/strong>,<strong> the technical and specifical material<\/strong> (harness, helmet, ravine bag, waterproof drum, neoprene wetsuit and booties),<strong> support vehicle and insurance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We offer our services in Sierra de Guara and the Pyrenees; and we organize trips to: Reunion Island, Tizzino (Switzerland), Maritime Alps, Madeira\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>Levels:<\/h2>\n<h3>LEVEL I:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family level for groups with young children:<\/strong> Even if we don\u2019t like to stablish a minimum age for the ravine descent, because every children has a different development and some may be able to start before others, this level is recommended for families who want to make the activity all together and who have children up from 5 years old who know how to swim. Playful activity with avoidable difficulties: easy and not obligatory jumps, slides and rappels.<\/p>\n<p>Ravines level I: Formiga from the cave of Polvorosa, Puntillo de la Peonera straits, La Palomera ravine (small masc\u00fan), Last Barbaruens\u2019s straits, Viandico\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>LEVEL\u00a0II:<\/h3>\n<p>This level is <strong>suitable for all those who want to enjoy a ravine descent with all its characteristics: jumps, rappels, slides, diving\u2026<\/strong>It\u2019s not necessary to have previous experience and inside this group we find the most classical descents from the Pyrenees and Sierra de Guara: Formiga, Peonera, Oscuros de Balced, Basender, Furcos, Gloces, Vero from the visor, Miraval, Cave of La Leze&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>LEVEL\u00a0III:<\/h3>\n<p>This level <strong>goes a little bit further in the difficulty or duration, without being high-demanding compromise ravines<\/strong>. To make a descent like this it\u2019s recommendable to have had a previous experience with this activity and a minimum physical condition to achieve it. In this category ravines we will be able to make up to ten metres jumps (optional rappel), rappels up to 50 metres, slides, siphons\u2026 Another option for this level is to combine two ravines from the second level, so we can have a great day of canyoning. Some of the descents will be great classics like Fornocal, Vero, Os fornazos, Barbaruens, Portiacha, Gorgonch\u00f3n, San Mart\u00edn de la val de onsera, Cauriecho, Cueva Cabrito, Lugar+Escuain, Trigoniero+Barrosa, Souesoueu, Gloces+Furcos, Cueva del moro+Viandico, Lapazosa, Llech, althagneta, Diablozulo, Licebar, Artazulo\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>LEVEL IV:<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This level is<strong> intended for regular customers or people with previous experience who don\u2019t want to do this activity on their own<\/strong>. Inside this level we can found activities up to 12 hours in which sometimes it will be necessary to get up early to carry it out, with approaches that sometimes will take us up to three hours. For this group, we will need a good physical condition and resistance.
