Diablos-Costerillou Ridge

This edge, along with the Salenques-Tempestades al Aneto one, is one of the two edges with the biggest size and name that we can climb in the Pyrenees, especially if we make it in just one journey. With the Balaitus being the king of the zone, it is the first 3,000 metres Pyrenean mountain coming from the West, it will describe a continuous line of ridges in an extraordinary and beautiful environment.

Its difficulty comes from the length of the route, combined to the lack of escapes, the quantity of manoeuvres necessaries to progress: rappels, crossings and Vº climb passages; and a vertical and aerial environment.

Having as a base camp the comfortability of the Respumoso shelter, we can suggest only the ascension of the Diablos, the ascension of Costerillou and if we are expert mountaineers and have a very good physical condition we can perform both, making a journey with more than 12 hours of activity.

Just the Diablo Ridge is considered for many mountaineers as the most beautiful and difficult of the classical Pyrenean ridges, which with an excellent granite will be essential for our CV.
